Diego de la Cruz Iwadare (SFCM ’25) began to play the violin when he was 10 years old in Mexico. In 2018 and 2020 he was selected for the National youth symphonic orchestra of Mexico.

In 2019, Diego won the Julian Carrillo violin competition. He has participated in several music festivals such as the baroque music festival of Mexico and the Tchaikovsky international music festival Mexico 2019.

Diego won a scholarship at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he continues his studies with the renowned violinist and pedagogue Simon James. He has played with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, SF Symphony and won a fellowship with Classical Tahoe Festival.
