EPISODE 2 – “Mason Bates x Barbara Strozzi Remix” casts a 21^st setting for a gorgeous Baroque lament of loss and lamentation by the prolific 17^th century Italian composer and soprano Barbara Strozzi. Featuring American soprano Marnie Breckenridge in a resplendent performance – the lyrics of loss and lamentation are showcased in Breckenridge’s bell-like vocals. In a surreal film high on melodrama, and the unexpectedly contemporary arrangement, the effect is moody and magnificent.
