Mercury Soul Welcomes Matthew Ebisuzaki

Post Date: February 9th 2020

Following in 5 years of deep footsteps of outgoing marko bajzer – bay area native – Matthew Ebisuzaki joins us in the managing director role.

Trumpeter Matthew Ebisuzaki received his bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and his master’s degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston. An avid classical performer, he has performed with the Boston Pops as well as members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, and Boston Symphony and is currently Principal Trumpet of Santa Cruz Symphony.

In 2016 he was a founding member of two music groups that perform regularly throughout the Bay Area: Luminance, a contemporary ensemble with harp trumpet and cello and Brass over Bridges, an award winning brass quintet. As an educator, he works at Enriching Lives Through Music in San Rafael, Ruth Asawa School of the Arts SF and has a private teaching practice.

Upon returning from the east coast, he worked at a video production company producing and managing over 200 different projects. Matthew is excited to join the team at Mercury Soul and be part of a future for live music.
